Supervision accelerates the learning and development of a coach, while acknowledging them compassionately as an individual. It includes review of structure and ethics.”

Karen is an author, Master Certified Coach and qualified coach supervisor, the practice of which is central to her impact on the coaching profession. She has the courage to provoke sustainable change and the intellect to increase understanding in her professional conversations. She blends this with the sensitivity to support as appropriate. As a coach supervisor Karen specialises in developing coaches, one to one, who are in complex client contexts. In person she brings clarity, courage and compassion.

Karen has a 30 year track record of delivering well over 15,000 hours of 1:1 and Team Coaching time across 22 sectors, worldwide.

“I work collegially with my supervisees, offering a safe and respectful space. We explore what happened when a session did not go as expected; or when stakeholders needed to be accounted for; or when the client surprisingly triggers the coach; or there is an ethical dilemma. These are all examples of areas where regular supervision can enhance the professional presence and impact of the coach.”

“The value of generosity connects deeply in my work as a supervisor. I want to be generous, without judgement. I offer knowledge and insights, when appropriate, in the service of my supervisee’s awareness. I am flexible in finding ways to work together. I acknowledge purposefully and freely, in support of the supervisee as a coach and whole person.”

“I am curious and patient with others. I cherish considerate, timely, spacious overtures. I want shared experiences which are lacking in pretence. Experiences of warmth, which are emotionally abundant, deep and rich. I want stimulating exchanges for learning, challenging and searching, revealing understanding for mutual growth.”

“I am allowing and relaxed during supervision even when the coach is judging and tense. I am striving for a positive parallel with my client which is relevant and worthwhile.”

“As a supervisor I pay attention to opportunities for the supervisees to acknowledge their own talents, achievements and gifts. I know that without acknowledgement people do not move forward. They hold firmly to their wounds and resentments which keep them stuck. My role is to demonstrate noticing.”

“I welcome the possibility of working with you. Please be in touch. We can then test and determine how we might deliver best possible value for you and your coaching practice.”
